It's a-him! Again.

Over the last 28 years, Mario has built an illustrious resume.
He’s rescued princesses, cured infectious diseases, and amassed a fortune in gold coins. We’ve seen him in sports games, brawlers — even a first person shooter (sort of).
And at E3 this year, Nintendo revealed their longtime mascot’s latest outings: a return to his 2-D platformer roots and a second go-round of Super Mario Galaxy.
Unabashed Mario fans have likely already dusted off their Wiis in anticipation. But outside of the Mushroom Kingdom Appreciation Club, things aren’t so rosy. Over at GeekDad, user daren_grey has had his fill of our mustachioed-friend:
I would rather shoot myself in the face than play another Mario game… EVER. Why? Too much of a good thing. I am so completely sick of the high-pitched whine of that ridiculous character in his silly blue pants and red hat. I enjoyed Super Mario Galaxy, but stopped playing it because the character was so loathsome.
Have you had all of the Mario you can take? Does the thought of another adventure with the portly plumber and his silly overalls make you queasy?
Or do you long for the good old days, with its animated shows and themed bedsheets?
Sound off in the comments.

Black Prophecy is one of the new breed of space-based science fiction MMOs on the horizon that will be a noticeable departure from the type of gameplay that EVE Online offers. Specifically, Black Prophecy is by design a more casual game. This is not to say that Black Prophecy won’t have high-level or ‘endgame’ content, but it will be a faster progression to endgame, according to Reakktor Media CEO Kirk Lenke.
Kirk was interviewed by GameSNAFU’s Sylvester Rozylo and the questions turned to PvP and Black Prophecy’s endgame. Kirk said, “Black Prophecy is designed to allow players to achieve major goals in character development without investing excessive amounts of time. So basically it will be possible to reach the endgame content within a few weeks, but you shouldn’t be afraid that the fun will run out once you reach the endgame.” Kirk added that Reakktor “will pay very close attention to creating a lasting experience that’s as attractive as possible wherein the focus will be on intense PvP action for solo, team and clan players.”
Kirk has plenty more to say on PvP in Black Prophecy, which you can find in his interview at GameSNAFU.

* In the game, any summon can transform.
* The driving mode with Shiva is pretty much like an action game. Use the sticks to move around freely, the buttons to attack.

* The crystals involving Snow and Lightning? Snow’s is shaped in the form of a heart, Lightning’s is a rose.
* Know that kid who was arguing with Snow during the E3 trailer? He’s half the age of Snow, more info will be revealed on him in the summer.

* Vanille’s i’Cie mark? It’s somewhere secret with Toriyama stating it’s in “an amazing place”
* The relationship between Lightning and Snow is a mystery, but we’ll know more about it soon.

EVE Online’s in-game economy has been the subject of intense study over the years. The markets of EVE react very effectively to accomplish goals with the same economic laws that apply to many real-life marketplaces. The game’s developers CCP even hired a professional economist to analyse the in-game economy, advise them on problem issues and deliver interesting quarterly reports. The driving force behind EVE’s markets is often assumed to be basic supply and demand but this isn’t always the most potent component. In the hyper-capitalistic universe of New Eden, all bets are off and the only rules are those players enforce themselves with an iron fist. Cartels, market manipulation and theft run rife in EVE, with far-reaching consequences.
In this succinct article, I examine the hidden forces pushing and pulling EVE’s markets and show that EVE’s economic sandbox comes complete with quicksand and land mines.

Runes of Magic is the game some view as a free-to-play successor to World of Warcraft. Our own Krystalle Voecks gave us a preview of what’s to come in RoM from E3 2009 but Frogster has released a little more info about the next major patch, Chapter II - The Elven Prophecy. Frogster states: “In the upcoming ‘Chapter II - The Elven Prophecy’, the name giving elven will find their way into the game world Taborea. A widely branching background story entwines about the fairylike race with many new challenges that are going to be told in lots of new quests and new quest lines. Thus, ‘Chapter II - The Elven Prophecy’ will lead players into new game regions characterized by elven lore like an elven island at the shore of Ravenfell.”
Frogster really seems to be on a roll the release of content updates on a regular basis since launch; Return to the Ice Dwarf Kingdom (Patch 1.7) dropped earlier this month, bringing guild castles, permanent pets, and high level content with it. Chapter II - The Elven Prophecy will be released in September 2009. For a first glimpse at screens and concept art for The Elven Prophecy, check out our gallery after the jump.
