PEGI traffic light ratings get green light in mainland Europe, maybe not UK

“PEGI has agreed those changes and they will be implemented as part of the PEGI system in the new year, probably in the spring by the time the information has been transmitted to all publishers and incorporated as part of the approvals process for the format holders.” - Michael Rawlinson, managing director of ELSPA

The new ratings will hit mainland Europe this Spring, but the deal isn’t final yet for the UK. The holdup comes with work to make sure that the new design doesn’t infringe on existing patents. Also, the image you see above will be modified even more to avoid issues with the BBFC ratings.
