Capcom considered Mega Man 9 NES cart, may bridge Mega Man/Mega Man X one day, and Mega Man 9X in SNES-style could happen

Published by under 29216

A portion of a 1up interview with producer Hironobu Takeshita…
1UP: We kind of hoped to see actual NES cartridges produced. We heard rumors that Capcom discussed this very idea, which resulted in a limited run of collectors’ edition NES-style boxes. What stopped you?
HT: We all thought that it’d be great to see actual NES cartridge production! We put some serious thought into this, working with the U.S. staff. But fundamental differences in the technology prohibited us from producing cartridges without a program to bridge the NES cartridge and the current technology. This would have grown into a larger issue, so we reluctantly let it go. It was a great idea, however, so we wanted to use it somehow then thought of producing the box and cartridge case. By the way, this idea came out of our U.S. office; we are very thankful to our U.S. staff for this great idea!

Detailed LotRO maps document a year of new content

Published by under Uncategorized

Filed under: Fantasy, Lord of the Rings Online, Maps, Academic, Education
2008 has been a great year for Lord of the Rings Online. Not only for the exploding playerbase, but also for the amazing amount of content that has been added to the game since it launched. This includes everything from new classes, housing, hobbies, trophies, weapons, armor, and of course, new areas to explore. As a testament to this, the wonderful fan site Visions of the Ring has compiled a “before” and “after” set of maps showing the areas we had available a year ago versus the areas we have to explore now. You’ll notice the addition of Forochel, Eregion, the Mines, Lothlorien and more….

Bob’s Game update – Bob claims that someone is trying to shut him down

Published by under 29158

A portion of Bob’s latest post…
About a week ago I was contacted by a representative of a hacker-for-hire organization. They said that someone was attempting to hire them to take my site down, but they refused the job because they support me. My site is now being DDoS’d from a known commercial botnet and my servers are being scanned by another known hacker-for-hire group.
Those are some pretty big accusations, but I don’t see why Bob would lie about it. It would only hurt him at this point! Thanks to TechNick for the heads up!
