Infamous Impressions

Published by admin under 63491

(These are Darrin’s impressions. See Henning’s impressions here)
Pros

Pick Up and Play
Lots to Do: There are only a few main storyline missions to choose at any one time, but there are tons of entertaining side missions scattered all over the city that all provide the player with various benefits. Most of the missions have some tangible consequence beyond just unlocking the next mission and next story-bit, which holds the player’s interest.
Great (but few) boss fights
Exploration and Acrobatics: It’s fun to scramble up buildings, grind across power lines, ride trains around the city, and just explore the city. As a player, it’s effortless to execute all the movements and acrobatics which keeps the core movement mechanics breezy and allows the player to focus on other things.
Narrative: The story is light-hearted fun. It’s at the good end of basic comic-book fare, but it’s easy to get into, and it’s very well delivered. Most [...]

Sunday Night Questions: Your favorite E3 rumors?

Published by admin under 63467

There have been a bizarre number of rumors leading up to this year’s E3 and I guess we will find out what is fake and what is nonsense soon enough.
What E3 rumors have been your favorite this year?
My favorite had to be the new Sega console launching in 2010, the fact that some people assume that Sega will come back to the hardware business because they trademarked a few Dreamcast games is weird. Though I guess I don’t know what I’m talking about, I don’t have “insider information.” I would love to see Sega back in the hardware business, but I don’t see it happening anytime soon.
The other non-Sega related rumor I have been following is the Playstation 3 Slim console. This is a weird rumor, I thought it had to be fake when the pictures came out, but then a company sent out cease and desist letters to websites [...]

We’ve Entered The Asylum [E3 2009]

While it might not be the wisest marketing choice, associating your hotel with an asylum for the criminally insane, the Holiday Inn City Center gets a pass for its convenient access to E3 2009.

And The Biggest Poster At E3 Is… [E3]

Published by admin under 63443

E3 is back. Back as a big show. And nothing says big like this Assassin’s Creed 2 poster, which is by far the “biggest in show”.

Star Wars Galaxies gets a new community relations manager

Published by admin under 63315

The Star Wars Galaxies forum regulars have welcomed a new community relations manager named Draakull to their ranks, who will be taking over for previous CRM Zatozia. Draakull made an introductory post and explained how MMOs have played a big part in his life, primarily because of the communities he’s been involved with. Online friends helped him through some hard times when he didn’t have support in the real world, and now he’s ready to give back to the SWG community by performing in his new role as best he can.
Draakull has only been the CRM for a few days, but he has already organized a couple of small events in his introduction thread and has gained a lot of fans. To see what he’s got in store next, keep checking the thread, or simply stay tuned to the SWG forums — you’re bound to see his posts a lot [...]
